OxiClean & Katie Brown Tips for Cleaning & Entertaining
OxiClean hosted an event with Katie Brown, PBS host and lifestyle expert, and invited me to learn tips and tricks to "boost" my entertaining and cleaning, while using their newest products.
Note: I was invited as media to the event. Views expressed are always 100% my own.
I was excited to attend this event as a mom with a growing toddler. It seems to me that as my son grows, so does the amount of stains he can make! If I'm going to keep up with him and his stains, I will need some help!
Like many of you, I've seen the OxiClean commercial and wondered does it REALLY remove stains as shown? Here was my chance to find out. During the event I learned OxiClean is a oxygen-based stain fighter that’s chlorine free and color safe.
OxiClean is activated by water and works to break up the stain by "boosting" your laundry water pH to improve your detergent’s cleaning ability. This is important because sometimes detergent alone isn't enough to get your clothes the cleanest.
During the event Katie took us around to different tables and shared decorating/entertaining tricks and how she used the OxiClean products. At the dining example table, Katie used simple and creative tricks to set the table. Plain paper bags and wine corks were transformed into a menu card and napkin holder.
Katie also introduced us to OxiClean Dishwashing Booster, which was designed for the dishwasher to "boost" the removal of cloudy film, food particles, spots, and streaks that detergent alone can leave behind.
She showed us the differences of glasses that came out a dishwasher without versus a dishwasher with OxiClean Dishwashing Booster. As you can see there's a very big difference.
During the event I was able to have a mini interview with Katie about her partnering with OxiClean and how she has used the products. Check out the video below to hear what Katie said
One of the best tips I learned from the event is to be organized when it comes to cleaning. While in my business life I'm an organizing wizard, when it comes to full out down and dirty household cleaning I can get easily overwhelmed.
Katie shared a few tips on how she's able to tackle cleaning on a larger scale.
Set up a cleaning station like Katie's cleaning bucket. Inside her bucket Katie keeps all her cleaning supplies so she can find items easier and quicker.
Use containers and labels to help keep things organized. Having labels and photos on containers can really help children (and yourself) learn how to clean up for each family and easily put items away.
Have a weekly cleaning chart. Break down chores by the day to make tackle area easier. This is also a great way to get kids and the whole family involved
I learned lots of great tips during the event and Katie was fun host. So the next time my son comes home with a new stain, I'll be reaching for the OxiClean.
