A few months ago I met with the Hoover and Dirt Devil team to discuss Spring cleaning and their line of vacuums and cleaning products.

During that meeting, I was impressed when the Hoover and Dirt Devil team highlighted some of their vacuums that fit a NYC mom cleaning lifestyle.

When I receive an invite to come out to Chicago to visit their booth at the 2012 International Housewares Show, I quickly replied YES and started packing!

At the Inter. Housewares Show, I received a tour Inside the Hoover booth.

I was able to learn more about the history of the company, how their updating the Dirt Devil brand (I'll share more info about that later) and some of the special "features" on their products.

Dirt Devil Vacuums

The Dirt Devil Gator Series is a ENERGY STAR approved compact but powerful (voltage range 10.8V-18V) line of cleaning hand vacs. Designed with a dirt cup that flips open for easy emptying, that allows for debris removal with a quick press of a button, eliminating contact with dirt and saving time and effort.

They all feature a built-in crevice tool and three-year warranties. Two models come complete with a motorized brushroll that is perfect for pet owners. The motorized brushroll is also great for cleaning cars and stairs. Price varies ($29.99-$59.99).


The Dirt Devil line of Upright Vacuums come in a nice range of styles targeted to different uses. One of the vacuums swiveled easily to move around furniture.

The Breeze Bagless Upright cleans up any sort of mess including grime, splatters or pet hair and furs. It also has a signature Microfresh form of filtration that in Laboratory testing trapped 99 of airborne dirt, dust and irritants.


Then I learned about the Dirt Devil Whiskers Robotic Which I thought was not only adorable but perfect for NYC apartments! The Whiskers sweeps and vacuums tile, linoleum and wood flooring at the touch of a button. Simply place in an enclosed area, switch it on and it does the cleaning for you.

We then headed over to the Hoover section of the booth to learn about those vacuums and do some real time testing!


First was with the Hoover TwinTank Steam Mop (SRP $129.99). I was impressed to learn that the TwinTank uses a 100% biodegradable formula cleaning solution. It also keeps the water and solution separate for better cleaning control. You can use just steam for simple cleaning or steam and solution for tough stains.

I was able to test the TwinTank Steam Mop at removing crayon on wood floor. Something I truly know about since my son is quite a little artist! It was easy to use and removed the crayon marks on both wood and tiles areas.

I also liked that the Microfiber Pads (SRP $19.99) are machine washable and reusable so I can save money.


Next was over to the Cyclonic Upright area to test out the strength of the vacuums. When he asked me to turn the vacuum on and put it on the wall, I confess I gave them the side eye. No way was I going to be in trouble for breaking their vacuum. LOL

Thank goodness the other blogger took these photos for me cause it PROVES that the vacuuming power is THAT strong. If these vacuums can stick to the wall with the suction power imagine how clean they'll clean your carpets and floors. Dirt doesn't stand a chance!

By then I was blown away and finished my tour in awe with the super high tech Hoover Premier Products vacuums. From the super quiet Zen Whisper Canister to the Platinum Collection Lightweight Bagged Upright with Canister. This line of Premier Products vacuums are insanely powerful for those that are serious about their cleaning!
