In celebration of CARS 2, I met and interviewed Larry the Cable Guy, the voice of Mater in the Cars and Cars 2 movies, while he was in New York City to promote the film.

I was invited as media to this event. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

During the press interview I had the chance to ask Larry all my burning questions about the Cars 2 movie, that will released on June 24, 2011, and in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D in select theaters.

My 3rd question was why people should go and see the Cars 2 movie. Like anyone really needs a reason. I loved Larry's answer to my questions. Watch the video to hear his Mater answers.

As you can tell from the videos Larry the Cable Guy was down to earth and easy going. The interviewed actually last much longer then what's seen in my videos. I learned a lot about Larry as a husband, as a father and as an American.

One thing Larry feels strongly about it tolerance and friendship. He shared that there's alot of him in the Mater character. Even thought he's a well know star Larry still is so humble and open to meeting all different types of people. It's this same openness about people and life that Larry brings to the Cars 2 movie as Mater.

SYNOPSIS

CARS 2 (In Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D) Star race car Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car.

But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer).

Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.
