Gardening with Friends Inspired by Disney Bambi Blu-ray

By August 31, 2018 ,

To celebrate DISNEY's BAMBI 75th anniversary and it joining the Walt Disney Signature Collection on Digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand, I received a special package which contained my own Bambi and Thumper!

Note: I received product sample for review purpose. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

But I have to confess, while I was excited for my package, I'm not very good at gardening. I live in NYC. Not many places to garden here. So what to?! The solution came to me after watching our DISNEY's BAMBI Blu-ray.

One of the reasons I LOVE DISNEY's BAMBI is that the movie features themes of nature, friends and families. Ironically, I have a special friend who I nicknamed my Chinese mother, because she is just like family to me. She's always happy to spend time with me and Daniel, but we don't get to often enough. But now I have a chance to visit! So I quickly called her and made plans.

Ironically again, she has a backyard with a garden so we'd get a chance to get some basic garden in!

Once we arrived, my friend was excited to show us her garden with the herbs and veggies. She planted tomatoes and they were growing nice and green. But her garden still needed some TLC. So we brought out our package and started to put the items to use.

The first item was the butterfly garden stakes. I joined my son to place butterflies all around the garden to add some color and fun to all the green. The butterflies came in so many different colors combo and types. There was even a ladybug butterfly!

After dressing things up, then it was time to water the garden. We filled the Bambi watering pile that came with our package and let my son go. He really enjoyed watering the planets, flowers and veggies. I think a few butterflies also got watered by they'll be ok!

My son was having such a good time helping my friend in her garden that they decided to give him some serious work.

Out came the gardening gloves and tools from our package. Then my friend explained how to rake the ground to turn the soil and the different plants on that side of the garden.

After doing all that garden work, it was time to find a spot for our Bambi and Thumper garden figurine. After some back and forth, a nice spot was found for them under a tree. My son fixed and fixed till he was happy that they would be happy in their new home.

Since my son did such great work in garden, my friend let him help her pick some herbs and then join her in the kitchen to make us a meal. My son was amazed that the same "plants" he just saw and watered and learned about, he now could eat with dumplings!

And in that way my son (and I) was reminded that, just like in the DISNEY's BAMBI, we're all connected both to nature, animals and each other.

Celebrate DISNEY's BAMBI 75th anniversary this year and that the film joined the Walt Disney Signature Collection by getting it for your family.
